In W.A., union members on average earn about $154 a week more than non-members, according to the August 2011 ABS Survey. So an average member paying $468 a year in RTBU dues notionally earns a return of $8,000 - 18 times more - because on average they're in a workplace in which the union acts to enforce better pay and conditions, and workers' rights.
