Industrial issues and bargaining update

ausunions.jpgIn 2015, the Union will be starting negotiations for three Industrial Agreements.

  • The Transit Officers Agreement is due to expire at midnight on 6 October 2015. Negotiations should commence around 6 April 2015.
  • The TransWA Agreement is due to expire at midnight on 31 January 2016. Negotiations should commence around 31 July 2015.
  • The Railcar Drivers Agreement is due to expire at midnight on 16 March 2016. Negotiations should commence on or around the 16 September 2015.

Our membership is slowly increasing, and on average, there is 65% union density within the Public Transport Authority. It would be great to have as close to 100% density as possible, but many individuals – especially the younger generation – are unsure why unions are necessary.
