In Memory of Martin Wright

,
FREIGHT, PASSENGER

Many across our union and the rail network have been deeply saddened by the recent loss of our friend and colleague, Marty Wright.

Marty was a proud RTBU member who embodied the true spirit of solidarity and mateship. Across his many years with the Public Transport Authority — first as a Transit Officer and later as a Railcar Driver at Nowergup Depot — Marty earned the respect and friendship of everyone he worked alongside.

He will be remembered for his warmth, humour, and dedication to both his workmates and his family. Marty’s commitment to his job and his union was unwavering, and his presence will be deeply missed across the network and our RTBU community.

All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and share in remembering him. In honour of Marty, please wear a pop of blue — his favourite colour.

On behalf of all RTBU WA members, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Marty’s family, friends, and colleagues.

Marty will always be remembered as a valued member of our union family — one of our own.
